Working Principles
The NGMN Work Programme is a collaborative initiative where the entire NGMN membership, including MNOs, vendors, manufacturers and research institutions, contribute to common project objectives and deliverables.
The NGMN Work Programme is governed by a tollgate process for initiating, approving, and finalizing projects, and a deliverable process for producing, approving, and publishing outcomes to meet NGMN’s objectives. Projects, directed by the NGMN Alliance Board and overseen by the Strategy and Programme Committee, are led by representatives from NGMN’s membership.
Project participants take on roles such as lead or contributor, with support from NGMN’s Office Team in programme management, tools, communication, administrative and legal matters. Projects operate as virtual teams using digital communications and video conferencing, along with regular in-person meetings and workshops.
The Work Programme is primarily contribution-driven, relying on active participation from the membership. Decision-making, deliverable creation, review and agreement are based on consensus, with all deliverables requiring final approval by the Board.
