Viraj Abhayawardhana

Director – Mobile Access Strategy, Liberty Global

Viraj is currently working as the Director of Mobile Access Strategy at Liberty Global. His current focus has been on working with different OpCos across multiple markets in defining the optimal RAN evolution strategy. Virajhas worked extensively over 19 years in the telco industry on strategy and innovation covering both 5G and FTTP as well as new opportunities such as Mobile Private Networks, Network Edge, WiFi, Small Cells and IoT. He has led and chaired industry forums, worked with start-ups and academia to drive innovation when it seemed necessary. Prior to that he had worked in wireless research having read for a PhD at the University of Cambridge.
